The Court of Appeal

The Central Appeals Council is one of the four highest administrative courts in the Netherlands. The Central Appeals Council rules on appeals in disputes relating to social insurance, social benefits and the civil service.
Together with Crielaers, we were commissioned to renovate and modernise the existing premises of AG NOVA Architects. This involved the renovation of 4,500 m2 of the existing building of the Rechtbank Midden Nederland.

The specification was sharpened and the floor plans were drawn up in close consultation. To complement the basic design, which reused many materials such as flooring, we selected new loose furniture, some of it custom made, decorative lighting and acoustic solutions. A special privacy film was also designed in combination with a natural colour theme for each floor.

The aim was to bring the Central Council's identity and culture to the workplace in order to motivate employees and increase productivity and job satisfaction. The project has now been completed.
