apartment on
the Brouwersgracht
Harmonie tussen historie en modern comfort
In the heart of Amsterdam, on the picturesque Brouwersgracht, you will find this unique 4-room apartment of 120 m² in the monumental Brouwershof complex. This 16th century complex, consisting of the former warehouses 'Liefde', 'Eendracht' and 'Oude Schaap', was converted into apartments in the late 1970s. The apartment overlooks the canal to the front and the historic Van Wees jenever distillery to the rear.
The interior design has focused on complete refurbishment and sustainability, respecting the authentic elements. The original warehouse beams have been meticulously restored, treated with fire retardant and given a light coating that contrasts beautifully with the renovated plaster ceilings. A new lighting plan and completely renovated electrical installations add to the modern living comfort. In addition, underfloor heating has been installed under a new wooden floor, appropriate to this historic building.
To the front is the cosy living room with a new fireplace and bespoke panelling. Adjacent to this is the modern kitchen with ceramic worktop, state of the art appliances and a wine climate control cabinet. Centrally located at the entrance is a multi-functional room with a folding wall, ideal as a flexible study or guest room. To the rear is the master bedroom, complete with a luxurious bathroom with double shower, freestanding bath, double basin and separate toilet. Bespoke wardrobes and a second home office complete this space.
The use of sustainable materials and energy-efficient techniques has not only made this distinctive apartment future-proof, but also given it a fresh, contemporary look that seamlessly matches the client's wishes. The result is a perfect balance of historic charm and modern living comfort.
