Interior designer Plamen has over 20 years' experience in creating functional and sustainable interiors with a focus on usability, quality and the client's desired identity.
In his interior designs, he always seeks the perfect balance. The designs are timeless, occasionally with a wink. Plamen gains inspiration from nature, architecture, art, thoughtful product design and travel.
Plamen is at his best when he can think through and advise on challenging interior design issues and design puzzles. Creating design relationships between space and use, inside and outside, circulation and sight lines, material and atmosphere is his speciality.
I believe that good design begins with the well-being of the user, creating meaningful spaces that transcend the purely functional.
In a few words
As a child, Plamen stood out because he was creative and could draw well. In high school, at the age of 15, he won first prize in an inter-school competition.
While studying Architectural Design at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague, with majors in Architecture, Interior Design and Furniture Design, Plamen regularly created bespoke furniture, murals and logos for individuals, companies and hospitality businesses, in addition to interior designs.
After graduating in 1997, he gained several years of practical experience as an independent interior and furniture designer, designing his own furniture under the name Studio Plamen van Dijk. He then worked for many years as an interior designer for leading architecture and design firms.
At the end of 2009, Plamen van Dijk founded LTD STUDIO B.V. (Listen. Think. Design.) with a strong focus on business interiors.
At the beginning of 2023, the name of the studio was changed to Plamen van Dijk - Design Studio. Under this name, in addition to interior design for living and working environments, hospitality interiors and product design will also be created.
